After Just 2 Weeks of GPP

I feel energized, competent and comfortable in my own skin after just 2 weeks of GPP exercises at home. I can't wait to see how I feel after several months worth. Thanks again for creating this AWESOME site/place, Neil!

Faster Runs

I wanted to post because since doing GPP I knew I felt stronger, but can't always tell. Well, today I ran my usual 2 mile course (this will seem really lame to you pros) but it typically takes me 23-24 minutes. I am slow. I have not run at all since starting this program and today ran the 2 miles in 20.39. Can't tell you how excited I am and how good I feel. Thank you!!!!

Ran a Marathon

Went for a little run down big cottonwood today.
Can you do 26.2 with only GPP training? sure. My longest run in the last 4 months was 6.2! GPP proves yet once again that you can do hard things.

Mile is 4 Minutes Faster

Mile 10:10, That is 4 whole minutes off of my mile from when I started GPP a year ago!! I am super excited about that!

Qualified for Boston

Boston happened because of gpp! I honestly ran fewer miles during this training, compared to my previous marathons, the only differerence is that I added gpp 5x/week!

Lost 55 lbs.

I was thinking while I was jumping rope how awesome I'm going to be next year after another year full of gpp workouts. Then I realized I never gave an accounting for my first year at ggp. The results don't lie because in the last year I've lost 55 pounds, i'm down 6 waist sizes and i'm a size down in shirt size. That's just the appearance things that have changed and there are countless leaps in the cool fitness things I can do. God Bless GPP! PT Shares With Patient

"I have been online for a couple of months and just love the workout, the intelligence and the community.  I am also a pediatric Physical Therapist working typically with the 0-8 year old population.  Recently, I picked up an 18 year old woman who had a stroke as a result of years of cancer treatments.  We have been working on strengthening.  Well, today we added GPP.  WAAAAY modified, but gpp!!!!  We did .12 walk (2.0 mph) followed by three hip exercises, .12 walk followed by 3 abdominal workouts, .12 mph  followed by three shoulder exercises, and .12 (with 2.5# weights on!) followed by three back exercises.  We added music.  She was happy and DRIPPING WITH SWEAT!  This was an incredible addition to her program.  I am so excited to be able to share.
Not only have I come to love my daily workouts, now I can share my love with my kids at work.
Just wanted to show you how this workout/philosophy can change alll sorts of lives."

Thanks for everything!!

Army Doc Gets Highest PT Score Ever

Took Army PT test today after a week off from any physical activity. Not because I was tapering, just because I was kind of lazy. I did score my highest ever though.

Height/wt: First time ever not needing to be taped. I actually made weight for my height, 194lbs.

PU: did 69=96pts, needed 73 to earn 100% Grader didn't count 1st 5 because I was supposedly not coming all the way up. I think I was just way to lightning fast for his eyes in the 0545 darkness of the morning.

SU: did 76= 100pts needed 76 for 100%. Way to go me. I've always sucked at SU prior to GPP. (not that I any good at them now)

2mile run: 15:10 = 86 pts. needed 13:36 for 100%. I'm not sure that this will ever happen unless I quit my job and hire a track coach.

Total 282 of 300.

Best score so far, however I’ve never actually tried my hardest before either since I know I can’t run fast enough to max the run. I really would like to max the test 300/300 before I get out of the army in July, so I will be working on my run times.

Not ONE Halloween Candy

Just had to post. Never, ever in my lifetime have I done Halloween without eating even one piece of candy. If I start, I just can't/don't have just one piece. ever. I'm that girl. So, your challenge likely saved me from 3-4 extra pounds that heaven knows I would hate myself for gaining.

self-talk mantra of 2012-13.. "I know what that tastes like." Thank you awesome poster for that little gem. I've relied on it a lot. November 1, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterTatiana

Changing the Face of the World

I wrote a book. It's finished and submitted for publication. You may wonder what this has to do with GPP Fitness, but this is what I have learned so far from all you people. It's about finishing. I probably will never be first, but I will always finish. That lesson has spilled over into other aspects of my life. Like writing and finishing a book.

There was a quote found on the Berlin wall that said this, "Many small people, in many small places, doing many small things can change the face of the world."

Thanks for helping me change the face of my world. Together we can do great things.

Goal Weight Reached

I DID IT! I finally am to my goal weight. It has been 1 year and 4 months since I got back from Africa, 20 lbs heavier than I have ever been (it only took 6 months to acquire that, I loved the food too much). It took me forever, I was not trying hard the ENTIRE time but most of it. I got really discouraged when the first ten pounds came off in the first few months but then I was stuck with 6 lbs to lose for about 8 months. I did the CCC in the spring and even did the 4 day fast and lost nothing. I was so frustrated I was even to the point where I would work out and could run 6 miles (never done that before). Well three weeks ago I was three pounds away, I was so stoked that I had finally gotten past that wall and now I am where I wanted to be, 130 lbs!!! I feel awesome and am so relieved. I need to come down to get measured because I think I still have a half inch on my legs to lose. Now just some toning and to maintain. Perfect time for my wedding which is in two months!

Just had to share. Thank you all for your support when I was having a rough time, especially being up in Logan.

Neil thank you for always being positive and motivating me and never putting me down, even when I was slacking. You really are meant to do this kind of stuff, just hearing you speak reminds me that I can do anything.

So for those of you who have weight to lose and think it is not possible or you are at a wall, just keep going and eventually your hard work and patience will pay off. Don't stress about it too much. Be nice to yourself and just keep at it, even if it takes a year and a half :).  -Kourtney Blanc 10/14/12

Laps to Miles

Neil-I ran 4 miles today! By myself! I know to most of you, 4 miles is nothing. But for me--that is huge! When I started training with Neil about 3 years ago, 1 lap was enough running for me. I hated to run! So my goal this past month has been to run 3-4 miles, twice a week and then gpp workouts on the other days. I've actually been able to do it and I don't mind it so much. So thank you Neil. (I never thought I would thank you for teaching me to "tolerate" running.:))

Time Off Mile

The first time I did this workout, I ran the mile in a little over 10 minutes and my overall time was 24 minutes. Today, I ran the mile in 8:30 and finished the workout in 16:48. I feel pretty darn good about that one! I have never been in better shape in my life! I don't have my pull-up up on the bar (still jumping) but I will get it soon.
Thank you Liz, Neil and Meg.

Time Cut in Half

October 11, 2009 was my second day and the first workout I remember here with the Fit Zone/O Zone/GPP crowd. We did this workout and I racked up an amazing 28:00. So on my almost one year anniversary working out here, I'm happy to report doing this same workout a much improved 17:42 rx. That's my success story thus far and I'm NOT sticking to it!....I'll get faster that is. :) I owe you Neil, Liz, Meg. Thanks so much-

First 5k: 3rd place

Did my first 5K today time 33:56, I am happy with it, plus I came in third in my age group. Thanks GPP for making me a lot fitter then I have ever been. That's the first time I've ran 3 miles at once ever.
