Daily Extras -

900 backwards rope jumps

Workout Notes:

  • Burpees weren't my first choice today. Wanted to run outside and bring that "Two 2 Infinity" workout back. But, alas, most of us are due for bad weather today. Let's do it Friday?
  • This will be short for a couple of you. If you are one of those who will go under 20 minutes, you'll need to do this at "Ludicrous Speed." Like, seriously. You need to go fast. Then go to the rope jumps.
  • If you do it right (and you are ready for it - not one second before), you should be coughing all day after this.
  • In Life: You are either doing burpees or burpees are doing you.

Musings ...

The Health Continuum

Health, as it relates to fitness, is misunderstood by non-GPP oriented folk. What folks outside of our realm seam to misinterpret is fitness' role in health. Many mistakenly think that the more fit you are the more healthy you are.

This is WRONG. Fitness is only a PIECE of health, not health itself.

On one hand, you have those who exercise too little. These folks place a little too much value on couch time. The most exercise they get daily is pushing buttons on their X-box controller and making hourly laps to the kitchen to top off their soda and fetch more Cheetos. No one would argue that the average couch potato exists at the expense of longevity and functionality.

On the other hand you have those who exercise too much. These are they who have misconstrued exercise into some sort of daily competition. They realize this is a vapid and tedious pursuit, yet they console themselves by posting workout data and daily ab selfies to social media.

Interestingly, folks on each side of the extremes are NOT the picture of health. In fact, they are quite the opposite. Health, true health, lies somewhere in between.

If you are new here, this is what it's all about!
