Stick to Your Task

Stick to your task 'til it sticks to you;

Beginners are many, but enders are few:

Honor, Power, Place and Praise

Will come, in time, to the one who stays.

Stick to your task 'til it sticks to you;

Bend at it, sweat at it, smile at it too;

For out of the bend and the sweat and the smile

Will come life's victories after a while.

It's been over 2 weeks since we all started our New Year's resolutions and that's about when the average person quits. Possibly it's because we haven't seen any changes, maybe we over-shot our goals a little bit, probably we are just plain sick of the effort. We are hungry, tired, and the determination has waned. It's about this time that we start to let the little rewards and justifications sabotage all our hard work! Allowing ourselves a treat because we have been so good, or skipping a workout because we have been so consistent. Two weeks is nothing but a good start.

Now that you have a good start, it's time to take it up a notch and keep yourself motivated.  Can you get to your workout a little early and run for 10 minutes? Can you stay after and work on some skill development like double unders or pull-ups? Can you add another serving of fruits or veggies throughout the day? Can you do a little bit more to keep you on task?

This time is crucial for your success, these next two weeks are when a lot of change happens because these next two weeks help you evolve from an average NYRDO (New Year's Resolution Drop Out), to someone that achieves goals, to an above average goal setter, to a new you!

If you haven't seen the changes you wanted, you probably need to take a closer look at what you are doing to achieve those goals. Possibly you aren't doing enough. Do a little self evaluation and ask yourself some hard questions about how you are REALLY doing. The last two weeks were a good start, stick to the next two weeks and your goals might start sticking to you.
